Uniting Through Music: Support the MCP Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 Season!

Hello friends!

We hope that these summer months have been filled with moments of joy and days of beautiful weather. The Millennium Chamber Players team has been hard at work planning the next steps for your beloved organization as we navigate a completely changed landscape in the music performance world.

It is our intention to continue providing world-class performances, mentorship opportunities, and wellness programs to the under-served members of our community. To achieve this mission, we need your support.

MCP is seeking $10,000 in donations by December 1, 2020 to fund the Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 season. Your generosity will provide the necessary funding to employ musicians, create mentorships and performing opportunities for young artists, and open the door to more performances at Mt. Sinai and other senior wellness centers.

Please give as you are able, every contribution makes a significant difference and breathes life into the world through the power of music.

Please make your donation now, visit our GoFundMe page: https://gf.me/u/yxuyzb

Our heartfelt thanks for your contribution and continued support of the arts, by giving today you are providing a future for music in our changing world - uniting us one note at a time.

Thank you.

MORE ABOUT OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORT

Millennium Chamber Players (MCP) is an artist-run service organization that has been uniting top NYC and international artists since 2000. MCP serves as a unique hub for the music community through three main initiatives: providing free world-class performances to the public, a hands-on youth mentoring program, and targeted community outreach performances to under-served members of our community.

Now, more than ever before, music unites us to provide comfort and helps us to strengthen our resilience in the face of the unknown. In the midst of one of our world’s most challenging periods, where we can easily be lost and disconnected, MCP aims to transform fascination into passion, curiosity into confidence, and knowledge into ambition for its musicians and audiences alike.

With your heartfelt support, MCP will bring music to NYC and the world on the virtual stage. Please help MCP achieve our vision and our goal of $10,000 by December 1, 2020 to fund the Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 season and fund the MCP initiatives. Your generosity will allow MCP to compensate the many dedicated artists who are facing a completely changed world, inspire young performers to continue pursuing their passion in the face of great adversity, and bring joy through music to the under-served communities across NYC.

OUR INITIATIVES

I. Free Public Performances

  • Saturday, October 24, 2020, 5pm EST: MUSIC SPEAKS will be a 60-minute live-stream event with live performances and conversation about inspirational music composed during historically challenging times.

  • Saturday, January 9, 2021, 5pm EST: MUSIC UNITES will be a 60-minute live-stream event with live performances and conversation to celebrate our URM composers of today and the forgotten past; acknowledging these cultural contributions to European music and western music traditions that have persevered, evolving as one universal language.

  • Saturday, May 22, 2021, 5pm EST: MUSIC INSPIRES (Location TBD) will be a live indoor or outdoor concert event of world music and the voices of today representing the MCP Vision.

II. Young Artists Mentorship Program (YAM)

During the 2020-2021 season students from LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, Third Street Music School Settlement and The Manhattan School of Music have been selected, with invaluable opportunities and experiences, to learn and perform side-by-side an array of top NYC and international artists. This experience provides these young musicians with invaluable mentorship and performance opportunities that will positively impact their future careers.

III. Music and Healing - Senior Wellness Program

MCP has a long standing partnership with The Louis Armstrong Department of Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC and other select healthcare institutes across the US. Through this partnership, MCP provides monthly performances for hospital in-patients, senior care facilities, the medical frontline community, and the general public.

It is through your generosity that MCP is able to continue this important work and be a guiding light into the lives and homes of so many who are in need of music’s powerful positive impact. Thank you for your contribution and dedication to music.
